Bilingual preschool curriculum
A UNIQUE CYCLE
La Petite Ecole has adopted the curriculum of the French Ministry of Education. Our bilingual preschool curriculum helps the child to become autonomous and gain new skills and information. When your child enters preschool, they begin “Cycle 1,” which lasts three to four years. This one-of-a-kind cycle is critical to everyone’s success.
By the end of Cycle 1, preschool students will have acquired knowledge in several areas. The main areas of learning consist in:
Mobilising language in all its forms
Acting, expressing and understanding through physical and artistic activities
Gaining basic numeracy skills
Exploring the world
INITIAL EXPERIENCE
The primary goal of preschool is to provide each child with a successful first year of school. The school's structure and daily routine are intended to fulfil the requirements and nurture the growth of young children, as well as to ensure the smooth running of activities. An adaptation period can be considered if necessary.
DEVELOPING THEIR CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Preschool pupils take part in weekly philosophy workshops. These workshops are organised around themes that allow students to develop their critical thinking skills and share their opinions. This is a time for them to answer the questions that they have in small discussion groups.
